Wolverines measure about 18 inches (males) and 14 inches (females) in height and, correspondingly, 45 and 36 inches in crown-rump length. Weight averages 35 pounds (males) and 25 pounds (females.) They are distributed in Northern USA, Canada, Alaska, Scandinavia and Northern Russia.

They mate in summer, and young are born after 9 months. Litters average 2-3 young that appear in March to April. Kits are born white and blind, and they are weaned by age of 10 weeks.
