Like all felines, this species is highly territorial. They inhibit the area from 10 to 30 square miles. Males’ home ranges are larger than those of females. It often happens that several females live in the home range belonging to one male. These animals are found in grassy areas and forests, which provide them with shelter, water, and enough prey. The reproductive rate of these naimals is rather low; females breed only once in 2-4 years. There are 1-4 cubs in a litter, and not all of them survive. These animals are endangered; hunting and selling their body parts is banned in many countries.
