White tigers occur only in Bengal species. They were found only in India. The last white tiger was seen and caught in 1951. With that male, the captive poipulation of white tigers began. The gene responsible for the coat color is somehow associated with a lot of disorders, so breeding depression is the curse of white tigers. The death rate among white cubs is dramatically high; their life span is shorter and they are often inable to produce the offspring. More often than not, white tigers have a whole bundle of illnesses, such as crossed eyes, spinal curvature, twisted neck and shortened tendons of the legs.
