Tick Medicine

Tick medicine spans shampoos, lotions, topical ointments, pills, collars, and de-infestation treatments. A pair of hens in the yard will eat up the ticks. Some all-purpose medicines work for worms, parasites, ticks, fleas, and bugs. Ticks will have no fun with the noxious ointment, and they will be repelled instantly. Since ticks leave behind serious infections sometimes, it’s worthwhile to prevent them from entering at whatever cost possible. Mosquitoes and ticks will be deterred and never want to land on your dog’s skin. Make sure to check the neighbor’s dog too for ticks. He or she may be infesting your dog too.

It is a good idea to give your pet tick medicine at the first sign of warm weather. It protects you and your dog too. Ticks can jump from your pet onto you. Ticks can pass along Lyme Disease as well. This is a serious condition that might cause aches and pains of the joints and paralysis. In fact, the Bubonic Plague, a seriously deadly disease was carried on rats’ fleas. Fleas can carry harmful, lifethreatening illnesses that can be passed onto humans, and they might be contagious too. Watch out.

Some products are all-in-one medications. They contain flea, tick, and parasite medicine. Each breed has its own formula. Shampoo, spray-on, oral, and topical tick medicine are all seen. Most tick medicines are topical so you have to be cautious because your pet could be allergic to the medicine. Ask your veterinarian what type of tick medicine they recommend. Most veterinarians carry medicines that kill ticks, fleas, and parasites like heartworm. Some people do well with tick tweezers. These specially designed tweezers give you a better tick grip than other tweezers designed for human issues.

Tick collars sometimes have lots of tick medicine embedded into them to repel ticks of all flocks. The tick is not a pleasant insect, and it can do lots of damage. If your pet is licking or biting a certain area for a long time, check it out; they may be trying to get rid of the tick. Tick medicine should be applied at the beginning of spring and then every couple of weeks.
