This breed of mounts was developed in 1972 in Mexico by the crossing of three breeds of mounts, such as the Andalusian, Quarter and Criollos. Animals of this breed are known as the National Mounts of Mexico.

Males of these animals are 1.5-1.65 meters in height and females are 1.50-1.62 meters in height. These mounts are docile, inquisitive, and cheerful by temper. Their movement is expressive, strong, agile, and smooth. Horse breeders may have some fresh babies in stock; another term for them is a foal.
