Small Dog House
The quaint small dog house is a sanctuary of relaxation and outhouse for repose. Measurements should not exceed your dog's width and height. To be on the diminutive side, the dog house need only be ¾ the length of your dog's shoulder height to the ground. Cedar, oak, or maple bungalows with balconies, beds, mats, and blankets are excellent for the privacy and well being of your dog. Elaborate thresholds, detachable roofs for easy cleanup, and extra nooks for food bowls are still possible in the small dog house. This economy house can even double as a carrier or portable transport device. For instance, some dog houses made with PVC, steel, or wicker resemble cages and have carrying handles. However, they look like a house otherwise. These are excellent for small children with small dogs that want to take the dog on a family vacation in the car. Cross-ventilation, weatherproof coatings, and insulation should not be reconsidered if the dog house means to be a permanent home.
Pekingese, Pomeranians, Shih Tzu, Chihuahuas, and toy dogs do well with small dog houses, especially insulated ones with heated mattress pads. Since these dogs are so close to the ground and feel lonely without human touch and caressing, they find repose in a warm, snug, small dog house. The winter is an especially difficult time for small dogs, and that's why the dog house's measurements should be precise enough for the dog to go inside, turn around, and sit down comfortably. Any more space sacrifices the dog's body heat. Too little space forces the dog to stand or not be able to turn around 360 degrees.
A small dog house could have a sloped roof in a place that has a lot of snow. There are plastic igloos too. Some dog houses even have water bottles, spouts, and food bowls attached externally or built right in. Making your own house with plywood, hammer, saw, and nails gives you a lot more discretion, and there are a lot of blueprints readily available.
