Some urgent steps on saving these animals must be undertaken immediately as now there are only five of the eight subspecies found on our planet and they are on the verge of extinction too. Otherwise there be no these animals on the earth in some years. Indian government has succeeded in its policy aimed at saving the Bengal subspecies, and a similar project would probably be very helpful in saving the Amur subspecies. Nowadays, these felines are sustaining great loss from poachers who continue to destroy their population and habitat with the connivance of corrupt local authorities.
