This coat color is defined by a double recessive allele that can be contained in the gene pool of orange species. These animals are in no way related to the Amur subspecies and only occur among Bengals.

They are not albinos and they are not of a separate species. They have chocolate stripes and blue eyes and there are still some variations of the color of the coat and eyes. If these cats were albinos they would have pink eyes. First cub of this color was discovered in 1951, and some zoo specialists took a fancy to breeding these unique creatures. However, considering the low likelihood of such an occurrence, they had to do a lot of inbreeding, which resulted in serious genetic diseases.
