Females have 3-4 cubs and the gestation period lasts 3-5 months. Cubs weigh about 2-3 pounds and are born blind. They are fed with their mother’s milk about 6-8 weeks and start hunting at the age of 18 months. This is the time when they become fully independent, and they reach full maturity by age of 3-4 years. These animals are polygamous, and males do not stay with one particular female. A male maintains a sort of harem as he mates with the several females dwelling within his home range.
