There is also the same amount of these cats that live in captivity as in the wild. These are beautiful, elegant animals. They are the largest animals of this subspecies. Males are about 3,3 meters long and weigh about 300 kilograms and females weigh about 110-167 kg and their length is 2,6 meters. Unfortunately, the population of these felids has sustained a great devastation in the 20th century. With the breakup of the Soviet Union, illegal trade in their body parts increased, and now the situation seems to be getting out of hand.
