The Shiloh Shepherd is still a "breed" under development. Tina M. Barber, the breed founder, has been breeding German Shepherd dogs since 1962. In 1974 Tina committed her life to Jesus, and changed her kennel name to reflect her new direction. With backing from many prominent breeders, she forged on to set the foundations for this new type! These magnificent giants are extremely intelligent and exceptionally gentle with children!

This breed originated from the classic German Shepherd dogs; in 1990 it separated from the AKC. The breeder who founded this breed, set the standard back to the old type and has been registered since 1991 as the ISSR. Today this breed is registered by these registries: ISSR, NSBR, SSBA, TSSR, and NKC. The shiloh shepherd kennels will have many pictures available.
