The breeding project was launched in 1999, and the breed is still being developed. A lot of breeds have contributed their genes to this one. Those include the Maltese, Bichon Frise, Shih-Tzu, Yorkshire Terrier, Lhasa Apso, Miniature Schnauzer, Poodle, and the Havanese.
