The sarplaninac dogs are very active as puppies. This breed has several names: Sar Planina, Illyrian Sheepdog, Yugoslav Shepherd Dog, and Yugoslav Mountain Dog. The south of Yugoslavia is the place of the breed’s origin. The breed was first recognized in 1930; the AKC doesn’t register these dogs yet. The sarplaninac dogs are very active as puppies.
