Dog Breeders
Reputable dog breeders never surrender their animals to the rescue, but hobby breeders sometimes get rid of the puppies.
Sanshus first appeared in about 1912 on Honshu, Japan's main island. The new breed was the result of crossing indigenous Japanese animals with the Chow Chow from China. In appearance, they resemble the Akita and the Shiba and belong to the group of Japanese Spitz-type canines.
