Saint Bernard Parish
The saint bernard parish or monastery is historically where the first puppy and breeder originated.
The origin of the breed is linked with the mountain pass and the monastery. The pass was the most important crossing over the Alps. As the legend goes, the monastery was founded around the year 950. The dogs are known for saving the lives of travelers in severe weather conditions of the Alps.

Saint Bernard Parish -
puppy, breeder
There are three standards of the breed: a modified old Swiss version still used in the United States, the English version, and a Swiss version adopted by all FCI countries in 1993.
Well-bred, trained dogs are gentle and affectionate. They should be socialized and enrolled in obedience classes early. The saint bernard parish or monastery is historically where the first puppy and breeder originated.
