These dogs are easily recognizable by their massive athletic body and large broad head. The coat is short and hard; the only accepted color is black with brown spots on the head. The ears are carried forward; the eyes are dark; the tail is usually docked. The height of these dogs is from 24 to 27 inches at the withers; the weight varies from 100 to 130 pounds. Bitches are 22-25 inches at the withers and 85-115 pounds in weigh. The lifespan of this breed is 10-12 years.
