These dogs are characterized by a large broad head, with arched forehead, well-developed stop and very strong jaws. A scissors bite is preferred. When the dog is alert, wrinkles on the forehead can be seen. The only acceptable eye color is dark brown; the nose and the lips are black. The ears are of medium size and pendent.
