There exist two types of this breed of fowl. The old type appeared in the middle of the 19th century and is famous for its tender meat and ability to produce up to 300 large brown eggs per year. In the 1980’s the popularity of this type declined due to other efficient hybrids.

The show type of this breed is not productive at all; hens lay only about 100 eggs per year. The main emphasis is laid on the conformation.
