Rat terriers are a generally healthy puppy and will grow to be well tempered adult dogs.
These dogs are very playful and active; they need a lot of exercise, both physical and mental. Being natural ratters they like to chase objects, especially cats, but can live peacefully with other pets, if raised with them from the early puppyhood.
