Josephine, a white long-haired female, was the founder of the modern-day Ragdoll cat. Ann Baker, the breeder, often chose Daddy Warbucks, a Burmese-type Josephine’s son, for her major breeding projects. Ann established the International Ragdoll Cat Association, which was in no way related to any mainstream association.

Nowadays there are a number of accepted color variations for Ragdolls. They can be van, mitted, bi-colored and pointed. All Ragdolls are very big (15-20 pounds), densely coated and powerful, featuring hard bone, tough musculation and deep and broad chest.
