This mysterious creature is an old rival of the Reticulated Python, and it is still a question which one is larger. These animals dwell near rivers or in swamps of tropical woods and they are not easy to spot, because they are naturally shy and solitary.

This giant snake can be found in Brazil and Guianas, and unlike Pythons, females of this species are viviparous and give birth to live young. These snakes are excellent swimmers, and can be vexed easily. Its average length is 20 ft, diameter is 12 inches and weigh is 330 lbs. Anaconda's pictures may look menacing; but anaconda baby is rather sweet.
