This breed originated in China, and it has nothing in common with Bulldogs. Many people mistakenly think this dog to be Mastiff-type, but these two breeds have gone utterly different ways. This dog has never been involved in any service or hard work.

These dogs have wrinkly muzzles and sturdy bodies, and this is the reason why they are so often confused with Bulldogs. They feature short limbs and short muzzles, prominent round eyes and tightly curled tails. Coat is short and dense, coming in different fawns or black.
