The American Quarter Horse foundation stock originated from Arab, Turk and Barb breeds. American Quarter Horse is the first breed of horse native to the United States. They were developed from crosses of the horses that were brought to the New World. They quickly became known as the quickest horse on a short, straight run. Today, this American Quarter Horse breed is a very popular horse and is used in everything from rodeo to recreation riding.
