The Oldenburg horse is bred in the north of Germany, the former kingdom of Oldenburg. These horses are bred for dressage and racing. Oldenburgs have a refined and graceful body, and their overall grace is accentuated by light and effortless movements of the body. Oldenburgs have long legs and strong backs, and the withers are long and fitting, which defines the position of saddle and rider. Hindquarters are well-developed, and they provide substantial propelling power.
