The Azteca was developed in Mexico and is the National Horse of the country. Crosses between the American Quarter Horse and the Andalusian began in 1972. Additional crosses were made using Andalusian stallions and Criollo mares. This Azteca breed makes very versatile horses that enjoy challenge. The Azteca excel at activities that require intelligence, spirit, agility, power, strength, elegance and style.
