The Trakenher Horse goes back as far as 400 years ago, so it is an old warmblood breed. He is an offspring of the Schwaike, which originated in East Prussia, Germany. Crossbreeding the Schwaike with the Arab and the English Thoroughbred produced this breed. This horse was very powerful, obedient and agile, and it was used as a cavalry horse. It also proved an excellent farm horse.
