Geoffroy cats inhabit southern South America's densely covered grass and shrub lands. Primarily solitary, their time is mostly spent scavenging for small animals on ground, but they also display extensive tree-life. These agile climbers sleep in lower tree branches, mate there, and leave scat there. The reddish-yellow to gray fur has evenly spaced, small black spots that merge into lines about the head, neck, and chest. Black bands and a solid tip pattern its tail.
Also called Geoffrey's Cat, Oncefelas Geoffroyi.
