Among Kenyan and Eastern African dry savannahs wherever trees emerge, Giraffes reside. Giraffes are the tallest mammal having very long necks, high sloping shoulders to hindquarters, and long legs. These ruminants eat a 6-foot stretchs of vegetation of about 75 lb. per day above other land grazers. Although green leaves provide moisture, Giraffes drink every 2-3 days whenever water is available. The bulls (males) and cows (females) are non-territorial and sociable, living in loosely structured herds.
