The Musk Ox can be found in tundra of North America, Scandinavia, Elleshmere Island, Greenland and Siberia. These oxen have brown guard hair and underfur called qiviut. The qiviut is 8 times warmer than wool and keeps them toasty in extremely cold weather. They feed on crowberry, bearberry and willow. Musk Oxen females live
to about 20 years. Males in the wild live only about 12-14 years.
