Kudu, second largest African antelope, thrives in woodlands and scrub bushes that reclaim abandoned lands. Its narrow body, long legs, smaller head with huge cupped ears and spectacular horns identifies it. Red-brown to blue-gray coat sports 6 to 10 torso stripes, white muzzle, small cheek spots, white underside, upper leg garters and a black-tipped tail. Their small herds move seasonally: woodlands during rainy seasons, rivers or hill bases during dry seasons to eat nonspecific vegetation.
