Larger head, stockier forelimbs, shorter tail and thickset body differentiates Jaguars from leopards, although their similar features often cause confusion especially among black melanistic cats. Dependent upon location, jaguars are predominantly forest or grassland cats whereby they hunt at night, dawn/dusk, or day, preying on cattle, horses, deer, wild boars, rodents, reptiles, monkeys or fish. Its now diminished habitat is native to north and central South America, but once they occupied southern USA and southward.
