Coyote has a diverse non-particular diet. Cunningly, it hunts in packs of 2-3. These animals can reach 40 mph while running prey. Yellow eyes, prominent ears, grizzled gray coat with buff underparts, and bushy tail are coyotes' characteristics. Their homes are dens. Once confined to prairies and Western arid countryside, they now live coast to coast. Their major predators,- grizzlies, black bears, mountain lions and wolves, suffered declining populations permitting greater range. Only humans threaten them.
