Critically endangered, experts estimate 400 Sumatran tigers remain with extinction in 10 years. The smallest of tiger subspecies, it is darker and has narrow stripes on the orange to dark reddish coat. Equipped with webbed toes and being good swimmers, they are one of very few cats observed in water. They are inhabitants of Sumatran forests about which they hunt anything that moves with 10% success rate. Solitary, Sumatran tigers rarely engage in conflicts.
