The last surviving Siberian tigers inhabit the Russian Sikhote-Alin mountain range and historically, they lived in harsh, cold, snow-laden lands of Manchuria, Northern Korea, and Eastern China. They are not successful hunters, so they spend a great deal of time hunting for prey like deer and wild boar to feed their big 500-700 lb bodies. Stripes on their reddish yellow fur aid to camouflage them from prey. Close to extinction, about 200 remain in the wild.
