Working Dogs
Historically, working dogs' uses were herding, carting, or guarding. They watched property, pulled sleds, or performed water rescues. These large, intelligent, and protective dogs now perform a variety of tasks. They still herd and protect, but also they serve blind, deaf, and physically challenged people and help law enforcement agents catch criminals or search out bombs, drugs, money, and rescuers to find victims of disaster. Due to size and strength, proper training is essential.
