Some Toy dogs were bred to be pint-sized companions or lap dogs; others are Toys due to their size. Their gregarious nature and endearing expressions highlight their charm. Some Toys, lacking size awareness, may show assertiveness, particularly spoiled Toys showing owner jealousies. Easier to control and requiring less space, they make ideal apartment pets. Cost of care, messes, and shedding is less, but some can be finicky eaters. Their size and assertiveness predispose caution around children.
