The Volpino Italiano is an ancient Italian breed whose origin is unknown. This dog was the most popular breed with Italian royals for hundreds of years. They were also the favorite pets of Italian women. The women would dress the dogs with jewelry to show their love for them. Today, this breed is rare even in its native land and is almost totally unknown outside of Italy.
