The Thai Ridgeback is believed to have originated in Southeast Thailand or Cambodia. This breed is very rare and very few Thai Ridgebacks are found outside of their native land. In Thailand, they have principally been used for guarding livestock and homes. More recently, they have also been seen in the show ring and as companion dogs. This breed is a hunting dog that has subsisted for thousands of years.
