Perhaps Czech Mountain Dogs is an unfamiliar breed to those outside the Czech Republic. It is a long-haired, strong bodied dog with folded ears derived from the cross between an Alaskan and Slovakian dog. It is a favorite to Czech Nordic style mushers, Sona Klikarova and Jiri Suchy. Czech Mountain Dogs were first introduced to the U.S. public at the IFSS 2001 Nordic Style World Championships held in Fairbanks and placed well in international competition.
