The Cockapoo is a cross between the American Cocker Spaniel and the Miniature Poodle. Cockapoos originated in the United States during the 1960s. The original Cockapoo dogs were from unplanned mating, but more recently as their popularity has continued to grow, the matings have become planned. Like the Poodle, the Cockapoo is an intent observer, not going to the hyperactive excesses of many American Cocker Spaniels.
