The Porcelaine is a French breed that is thought to have descended from the English Harrier, the Montaimboeuf (now extinct,) and some small Laufhunds from Switzerland. Believed to be the oldest French scenthound, the Porcelaine disappeared after the French Revolution but was recreated soon after. These dogs have a superb sense of smell and a pleasant-sounding voice, making them great hunting dogs. The Porcelaine is also good with children and other dogs.
