Large-sized Dogs
Large-sized dogs specifications widely differ. USA lists 167 AKC large-sized dogs whose heights range from 14 inches (Shiba Inu) to 32+ inches (Great Dane;) 25-27 inches was typical and weights ranged from 45 pounds (Shar-Peis) to 150 pounds (Newfoundland) with most within 50-85 pounds. The Humane Society defines 50+ pounds as large-sized. Large dog considerations are more space, exercise, and food requirements, better intruder deterrents, less injury prone, and less startled. Personalities and behaviors vary greatly.
