The Norwegian Sheepdog is a rare breed that dates back to the time of the Vikings. These dogs were primarily used as guard dogs and hunters. The Norwegian Sheepdog was sent to Iceland and contributed to the development of the Iceland Dog. This breed makes an ideal house pet today, as it is affectionate, non-aggressive and loves attention.
