The Lapland Reindeer Dog is thought to be a cross between the German Shepherd and the Swedish Lapphund. This breed was utilized for many centuries as a protector of reindeer herds. These dogs protected the herds from wolves, bears and other predators. The Lapland Reindeer Dog is an energetic yet calm dog which allows it to be a good companion.
