Sanshu Dog

The Sanshu Dog, created on the Japanese island called Honshu in 1912, evolved by crossing the Chow Chow with middle-sized Japanese dogs. Similar to Akita in appearance, except that its tail curls more freely than the Akita's tail, the Sanshu makes a wonderful companion or watchdog. Despite its popularity in Japan, the Sanshu dog has never received authorized recognition.
