The Collie is divided into the Rough and Smooth Collie varieties. Its biggest concentration is in Britain. It's also called the Scottish Collie because it stayed in Scotland, exclusively, for such a long time. They're hardy, brainy herding dogs that have also been used to elicit water rescues. Their coats are white, blue merle, and sable and white together. They do well as seeing-eye dogs and movie stars because of their raw intellect. They're able to do almost anything if properly trained to do so. The Smooth Collie is equivalent in all aspects to the Rough Collie except for the longer coat. In dog shows, the same regulations and standards apply to both varieties, sans the coat. The Collie is a distinct land race dog. It means that it is adapted to the natural or cultural environment of its originating location. There is a lot of variation between Collie breeds, but most weigh between 22 and 55 pounds. They have long, pointed snouts and perky ears that make them resemble foxes or wolves. Lassie was a famous Collie. The herding Collies are definitely stockier than the others. They're all intelligent, bright, alert, and nimble. They're quick on their toes and know how to handle situations. Lassie personified the intelligent, resourceful, and strong Collie. It's easier to focus on the similar Rough and Smooth Collie breeds. They're 22 to 26 inches in height and 50 to 75 pounds in weight. They live between 14 and 16 years. There are slight give-or-take differences between males and females. Arthritis, eye problems, and hip problems are the most common ailments for this swift, agile, intelligent breed. Give it shade, water, and relief during hot weather. It needs moderate exercise, and it's not as energetic as some other breeds. It's sufficient to give it a very long, daily walk. It doesn't need to spend the majority of the day outdoors like some sheepdogs. Its coat needs a weekly brushing. The Collie was relegated to Scotland for several centuries before being released to the outside world. It derives its name from the Scottish sheep called the Colley. For centuries, the dog was used to guard, herd, and protect flocks and groups of sheep, cattle, goats, and even pigs. J.P. Morgan, Queen Victoria, the British Royal Family have had Collies. Queen Victoria made the dog popular when she saw it on her Scottish vacation. The dignified appearance of the dog was fitting for a queen of her caliber. Before the breed was formalized, it was a simple farm dog with a wide variety of traits, mostly physical, that varied significantly. Collies have had an enduring grip on the United Kingdom for centuries, and this has to do with their lack of aggressiveness, timidity, reticence, and negative mood.

Also called Rough Collie, Smooth Collie.
