The Bouvier de Ardennes is native to the Ardennes region of Belgium. This breed was developed from crosses of the Belgian Sheepdog, the Malinois, the Flandres, and the Briard of France. The Bouvier de Ardennes is one of the rarest breeds of dog in existence. This breed is used mostly for cattle work, but due to its lack of popularity, the Bouvier de Ardennes is on the brink of extinction.
