Breeders in Louisiana created the Bluetick Coonhound by mixing Foxhounds, Curs, French Hounds and English Coonhounds. This breed is a physically powerful and tireless hunting and treeing dog. Their hunting approach is courageous and unrelenting. The Bluetick Coonhound is a loyal and devoted breed, which makes it an excellent companion. It can either live indoors or outdoors, and makes great guard dogs as well.
