The Alaskan Klee Kai is a new breed that was developed by Linda Spurlin starting in the mid 1970's. Alaskan Klee Kai are a smaller version of the Alaskan Husky. 1988 was the first year that the Spurlin's made the Alaskan Klee Kai breed available to others. One of the most important trademarks of this Alaskan Klee Kai breed is the distinctive facial mask, which should be clearly visible because of the contrasting colors.
