The Pudelpointer is a cross between the English Pointer and the Standard Poodle. The goal was to develop a multi-purpose dog that had the excellent nose, stamina, and passion of the English Pointer and the water retrieving ability, intellect, and dedication to humans of the Standard Poodle. The breeders were successful in isolating these desirable traits and developed a wonderful hunting dog and companion.
